The teen suicide crisis is a nationwide public health concern affecting Northeast Ohio disproportionately. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is the third leading cause of death among individuals between 15 and 19 years old, surpassed only by accidents (Murphy, Xu, Kochanek, Curtin, & Arias, 2017).
