A vast amount of health care in the US is administered though mange care plans. What is manage care? Manage care is refers to a variety of methods for influencing the clinical behavior of health care providers and/or patients, often by incorporating the payment and delivery of health care. The goal of managed care is to control cost, quality and access to health care services in a specific population of covered enrollees (Jecker, 2008).
The quality/access to health care services that a patient receives is questionable due to the many challenges associated with the legal and ethical impacts of managed care. For one the plans are not easily available to everyone. Some employers don’t offer company sponsor plans.
